Why Has Comfort Become The Goal?
Have you ever noticed that the times when you feel truly alive are the times you chose to take a risk during? Like think about it. The times you chose to forget your comfort zone and took a risk are the times you feel the most. When you’re bold is when you do more things that have higher rewards at the end. So why does it seem like the goal for society is comfort, not to mention cookie cutter people. People are so concerned with being comfortable. So often all you hear people talk about when they talk about goals is getting a job that pays well. Half the time they don’t even care what they do. They could hate the job and their coworkers but it would still be comfortable for them. The idea of quiting is crazy even if they hate it because it’s easier to stay in one place than take a risk and be uncomfortable. It’s like a lazy dog sitting on a nail. It’s hurting him but not enough to move, and every once in a while he’ll let out a whine just as a complaint but that’s it. Our society is building lazy dogs and it needs to stop. You have the potential to change everything for self and your life but it requires taking risks. We need to stop glorifying comfort zones. Because complacency doesn’t create results.
