Look For Ways To Create Value
Have you ever had a so called “friend” who you thought was cool and your friend. But they spent a lot of time only looking out for themselves and how you could help them, never really returning the favor. Aren’t those people annoying? Most of the time they aren’t respected and no one really likes to work with them. So we can agree that taking value from someone else without returning it is not cool. So how do you avoid being that person? A lot of the concepts I talk about are simple but not necessarily easy here is one of those concepts now. The simplest way to avoid that is provide more value than you take. Now that does not mean you become a door mat for people to use or take advantage of. It means use your talents to create value. You have a set of skills that is only yours. That means you can provide services that other people can’t. Those skills are valuable and you can share them with people who see value in them. Look for ways to use your skill to create value. That how you avoid becoming the kind of person we talked about at the begining of this post. Nobody likes it when they feel like someone else is using them. They like people who respect them and their time. People who create value.
