This Is It.
So this is it my last day for working at the summer camp for 2017. Man this adventure has been crazy. There have been ups and downs God has shown me so much about myself and where he wants me to go as well as letting go of myself in order to serve someone else while having a positive attitude. You. probably don’t know how hard it is to get up at 6:45am to get ready to work, serve 600 people breakfast, then go straight into what we call morning jobs which include but are not limited to: cleaning all the doors and windows on camp, cleaning public bathrooms, cleaning dorm bathrooms, wiping down benches, or if it’s youth camp leading a bunch of kids in rec games, with maybe on potty break for that time entire time. All before lunch time. At lunch you’ll do the same job as you did at breakfast. After lunch you do an afternoon job, some of which are; making sure kids don’t drown at the pool, pond and water front. We make sure kids down die at the zip line course. We also run paint ball games on our fin eld, as well as open out camp store and snack shack. Most of the jobs with the exception of the last two are all physically hard. After dinner which normally comes right after sites close so you have just enough time to change but not enough time to shower, you help set up for the late night event at this point it’s normally 8:30pm the event’s never start until 10pm so you get a small break there some days. But on block party nights we have this thing called midnight cleaning. Yeah we don’t really get done with that until 1am. That is a normal day at the camp I work at. I love how fun everyone makes it. You might be wondering why I do it? It’s not because I’m crazy or something although you have to be kinda crazy in order to want to work here. Honestly it’s because I believe it’s a privilege to be able to show the campers who come God’s love in anyway possible including making sure clogged toilets are dragons that get slayed and cleaned so it’s not a distraction. No one may notice when a bathroom is clean, but they sure do notice when it’s dirty. This was my first permanent job honestly I’m pretty sure it prepared me for a lot of things in life. This is it the basically the end of my summer adventure for 2017. But the good thing is when one adventure ends another will take it’s place soon enough.
