The Number One Thing In Relationships?
Respect.
Relationships are a big part of life. Respect is a major factor in romantic relationships. But here is the deal the amount of respect you show God is a glimpse of the amount of respect you’ll show your significant other.
I’ve seen it time and time again as a high schooler at youth group, during camps and disciple nows. Kids who’s parents forced them to go to church so instead of paying attention and learning. They talk during service, joke, and laugh during worship. Their behavior is basically just continually be disruptive. It gets on my nerves when people do this kind of thing. Because while you’re at church, that is the time you should be focusing on and worshiping God. It’s supposed to be God’s time and the student’s I mentioned before don’t respect that. Even if you are forced to go to church by your parents it’s important to be respectful. Forget what your friends are doing, forget goofing off, forget the fact that you may be bored just be respectful.
See those same kids spend so much time wanting and looking for relationships. What they don’t get is you’ll never be able to truly respect a girl or a guy if you don’t first respect God. If you expect God to show up he will all you have to do is be ready. Honestly, if you don’t respect God the one who will always unconditionally love you so much that he let his own son die for you. How can you ever be expected to respect the person you are dating or will be dating in the future? How can you expect to get all the rewards and the plans he has for you without following him first? If you aren’t paying attention and don’t know what God is teaching don’t expect him to bless you.
I was once told people are at their most attractive when they are worshiping God. Honestly, I find that to be absolutely true. A guy who is worshiping God is super attractive. But the opposite is true as well. If you goof off and end up in your own little bubble instead of worshiping God in a time that is supposed to be set aside for him. It ends up making you about %100 less attractive.
You may not realize this but people are always watching how you behave. If I see someone who I think is attractive I pay attention to if they worship God or not. If I see them not worshiping God that automatically ruins anything I found attractive about them in the beginning. When you are looking for someone to date and potentially get married to look for someone who respects God and his teachings.
The easiest place to see if someone respects God is at church. But if someone doesn’t respect God it shows in all areas of their life including relationships. Because the amount of respect you show God is a glimpse of the amount of respect you’ll show your significant other.
