60 Days of blogging

60 Days of blogging

In the summer of 2017, I created this website and started my own blog. The topics were inspirational and motivational posts to help you succeed in everyday life.

I started the blog for two reasons 1. I liked writing/inspiring people. 2. I was looking at a program called Praxis and the program directors highly recommended it.

Their recommendation was to blog for 30 days you put a blog post online. It can be about anything you want just create content and post it for 30 days.

So for 30 days, I wrote about either an experience I had that day, a quote I liked or a frustration I was feeling and what I was learning from all the aforementioned things. All while working at a summer camp for long hours.

There were days I didn’t want to do it. There were days that I couldn’t wait to get back to my room to write about what happened that day. But the first 30 days came and went and instead of saying, “Oh that’s good enough.” I decided to keep up with the writing as long as I could.

I made it all the way to 60 days before the lack of sleep caught up with me. When I first started I wasn’t sure I had anything to say. I didn’t think I had much worth writing about. I soon found out that I had a lot to say if I just stopped for a second and wrote it out.

I also found great resources like Grammarly and a few youtube channels that were easy to use and provide helpful tips.

Over the summer of 2017, there was a lot of personal growth that happened in my life. I honestly would not recommend blogging while working a job as hectic as being on summer staff at Zephyr. But if you are in high school or just want something to challenge yourself for 30 days or so. I’d tell you to go for it! Don’t think too much about just create! Because no matter how bad the first post is by the end if you stick with it you’re bound to learn something along the way!
