Portfolio Project Outline Inktober Challenge

Welcome to my Praxis Module 2 Portfolio Project Outline! For this project, I am going to be combining a few different skills into 1 big project.

I will be combining the popular art challenge called Inktober. This challenge is to make a different and new piece of art every single day for the 31 days of October using only ink.

I want to combine this idea with a 30-day video challenge. So every day I would upload a new video to my Youtube channel. (Tori Peters)

By the end of the month, I would have 31 videos and 31 drawings. All the videos would be uploaded on to my Youtube channel for anyone to see.

There are many reasons I picked this particular project so here is all of them in a nice little list.

The purpose of this project:

1. Is to build up an actual design portfolio I can use on my website.

2. Is to test a new type of video on my Youtube channel.

3. To use the Youtube analytic system to my advantage and boost my channel views.

4. Add more content to my Youtube channel.

5. Boost my skills as an artist. Especially since I don’t use ink very often.

6. Improve and build my video editing and creating skills.

In the month of October, there are four and a half weeks. Every day I’ll be making adjustments to my work as needed. Here is my game plan for each week.

• Week 1 I’ll have finished and uploaded 6 videos and drawings to my channel by Saturday the 6^th.

• Week 2 I’ll have 7 more videos and drawings up by Saturday, October 13^th. (Total videos equaling 13)

• Week 3 I’ll have 7 more videos finished uploaded and ready to watch by the 20^th of October. (Total videos equaling 20)

• Week 4 If you hadn’t already guessed this week I’ll be doing 7 more videos and adding them to my youtube content as well. This will be done by the Saturday the 27^th. (Total videos equaling 27)

• Week 4 ½ I’ll finish the last 4 videos and have them up by October 31^st. (Total videos equaling 31)

This project is going to require consistency. I am excited to challenge myself both artistically and mentally. I believe one of the challenges I’ll face is remembering to filming the drawing process early enough in the day. Another will be internet speeds. We have a lot of people in my house. Finally, I will be using ink and although I have used it erratically I will need to learn new techniques quickly if I want my work to be worth watching.

For this project, I want to Showcase my determination and creativity. As well as my design skills. If you are interested in the upcoming videos stay turned for my Inktober adventure!

UPDATE:

After a bit of time and some good advise I’ll be making most of the videos tutorials instead of just speed art videos. That way I will also become more adept at making explainer videos which can be helpful in many different roles.
