Acts of Service (Little acts of love)
How do you show love? Today we are talking about love languages and how to show little acts of love to the people around you. There are 5 love languages in total. (If you want a brief overview of those you can check out this post. I will be adding more posts like this so drop your email in the subscribe box real quick you don’t miss out on the rest of the posts in this series!)
I’ll be going over acts of service today. My Grandfather’s love language is acts of service, so I have some specific examples I use to show him he is loved. The deal with this type is that they are always doing something. The way they show love is by serving people. I remember one time, my grandmother left town and when she came back he had fixed a bunch of things in the house and done a ton of yard work. She had expected him to see it as a vacation and instead he had worked the entire time. This was his way of showing her love.
Here are some examples of ways to show someone who is acts of service love.
- Help them around the house. Any small thing like telling them you noticed a light was out so you changed it. Doing the dishes anything like that.
- Do something big for them. landscaping, big repair, etc.
- Do something that will make their life easier. Like at the office. Instead of suggesting we should do blank. Do the thing you are going to suggest and let that person know by saying I noticed this so I fixed it. (This would probably work for anyone honestly and scores you brownie points with your boss.)
I hope these suggestions helped! If you are an “acts of service” person let me know, would make you happy? If you have any suggestions I missed leave them in the comments below!
