Things I Learned From My Praxis Video Project
At the beginning of the month, I learned some super technical skills example, I need to keep the camera on the left-hand side so you can see what I am doing with my right hand. I’ve learned how to edit down an hours’ worth of film into a 13-minute video. Another thing I’ve improved my thumbnail design skills so that they are simple and easy to read as well as eye-catching. I found out there are certain colors to use and that thumbnails with text are more likely to be clicked on.

After I realized how few people were seeing my videos I started to look up ways to make it easier for viewers to find my videos. This is where SEO comes in. I started looking up videos and taking notes from those videos I found.
Out of the 13 videos I have added since I started the SEO I have had 10 videos pop up in searches and get clicks and 3 of them don’t have a data to report at the moment. So I know the SEO has been effective.
Here are 3 specific things I learned from the SEO I researched.
- Make the description a mini blog post so that YouTube will know exactly what your video is about and it shows up in more suggested videos.
- Ask a question at the end of your video that is specific so that you’ll have more engagement and YouTube will notice that you people are responding well to your video this also makes them want to show it to more people.
- Use specific tags on your video and don’t use more than 7 or so that way you don’t confuse YouTube and the site will know who to recommend your video to.
