My Dream

If you’ve seen my Youtube channel lately you’ve probably seen me talking about my book.

Well today I want to talk about some of the goals I have both for my Youtube channel but also some of the things I’d like to do in life.

It’s always a daunting question when someone asks: “So what do you want to do?” I always just think to myself: “That’s a big question man. Are you sure you want to go into this right now?” But I normally reply out loud with. “Well the three big things I want to do are author, public speaker and musician.”

This normally provokes some sort of surprise from the person I’m talking to in one way or another. Probably because having dreams as complex as this and actually talking about them with confidence is not particularly common.

I like to jokingly say I want to be a rock star. The thing is it’s only half jokingly. The other half of me believes it.

That’s the dream I’ve always known about. I’ve always wanted to be a singer/songwriter/artist. For as long as I can remember that’s been my dream. So I’ve been building the skills for that for almost as long.

Let’s move onto dream number two. So in third grade I won the P.B.S. Reading Rainbow writing contest for a book I wrote about a cat that wanted to vote and couldn’t decide who to vote for. I think that’s where my love for writing started. So when I found out about a kid named Caleb Maddix who wrote a book at the age of 11 called The Keys to Success For Kids. (I found out about him at the age of 16 and he was 14) I decided there was no reason who I couldn’t write my own book. So I did. It took me a little while to come up with a topic for it but I found one.

At the age of 18 I have written and self published a book on amazon. There by hitting one of my life goals. That’s a weird feeling as a teenager I’ll tell you!

At the age of 16 I competed in the speech and debate event called motivational. Where if you hadn’t guessed it already we had to write and perform a motivational speech. This was the first time I had done a speech that fun and by the end of the semester I decided I wanted to add that to the list of things I seriously wanted to do with my life.

As you can probably tell none of these goals really clash. They aren’t mutually exclusive in anyway shape or form.

So the idea is to travel the world (at least for a while) doing concerts. Plus speaking at camps, conferences, churches, schools, etc. Right now I speak about the topic of my book which is how powerful your words are. Simply because that is where my niche is.

I’m working on putting together my first EP as well.
